Risk Disclosure & Disclaimer
Last updated: 25 September 2026
Please read this before you trade with TradeLite. It applies to the whole Service, including charts, paper trading, strategies, alerts and orders sent to your broker.
1. Trading involves risk of loss
- Trading in equities, futures and options (F&O), currencies, commodities and crypto assets carries a high risk of loss. You can lose more than you invest in leveraged or derivative products.
- According to SEBI studies, a large majority of individual traders in the equity F&O segment make net losses. Trade only with money you can afford to lose.
- Past performance, backtests, replays and paper-trading results do not guarantee future results. Simulated results do not include real slippage, liquidity, charges or execution delays.
2. No investment advice
TradeLite is a software tool. It is not a stock broker, and it is not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser or research analyst. Charts, indicators, screeners, strategies, news and any other information in the Service are for information and education only. They are not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any instrument. Make your own decisions, and consult a SEBI-registered adviser if you need advice.
3. Automated and API orders
- Orders sent through a broker API, including by strategies you enable, are treated as algorithmic orders under the SEBI and exchange framework for retail algorithmic trading, and are tagged as such by your broker.
- Strategies on TradeLite are white-box: they follow rules you can see and set. You are responsible for choosing, configuring, enabling and monitoring them.
- Automated trading can fail or behave unexpectedly because of software bugs, connectivity problems, data errors, broker rejections or exchange limits. Monitor your positions and keep a way to exit them directly with your broker.
- Your broker may apply its own limits, block order types (such as market orders) or reject orders. Your broker's records are final.
4. Risk controls are not a guarantee
Daily loss limits, trade caps, profit lock and similar controls help you stick to your plan, but they act on the data and connections available at that moment. Gaps, fast markets, slippage or outages can cause losses larger than the limit you set.
5. Forex and crypto
Forex and crypto are traded through third-party platforms that may be outside India and outside SEBI regulation. Crypto assets are unregulated in India and may carry additional legal and tax risks. Check what is permitted for you under Indian law, including FEMA and the RBI's rules, before trading these instruments.
6. Data accuracy
Market data, option chains, fundamentals and news may be delayed or inaccurate and may come from third parties. Verify important information with your broker or the exchange before acting on it.
